We’re widely known for putting a modern spin on classic concepts. So when the brilliant Alex Moreau of XO Moreau told us that her clients, Annie and Scott, wanted a modern, fun, color-forward energy for their wedding day, we couldn’t help but get excited. Beautifully captured by Feather & Twine, this couple tied the knot in the lush courtyards of the South Congress Hotel in Austin.
The highlight of the outdoor wedding ceremony was a custom yellow aisle, which we used as our grounding inspiration and primary color in the design before layering in bright blooms to complement the couple’s bold aesthetic. We crafted an elaborate chuppah design with romantic flowers like roses and forsythia, and arranged them in an ombre rainbow on top of elegant, green foliage to create a pop of color against the natural beauty of the boutique hotel’s outdoor setting.
In the reception area, guests were met with sweeping views of wildflowers from the floor to the ceiling. The highlight was a custom light and floral installation over the dance floor. We used sunset-colored blooms to draw the eyes upward and create vibrancy and texture in the event space. The color gradient floral installations on either side of the DJ booth mirrored the ceremony archway, but we chose to showcase the inspiration color of yellow by itself on the simple-yet-whimsical table arrangements.
Annie and Scott’s wedding is the perfect example of how bold colors can add a modern approach to an eclectic spring wedding and create a visually unforgettable, fun vibe.
